SEYMOUR PAPERT, COMPUTADORES E EDUCAÇÃO: UMA REVISÃO RETROSPECTIVA E PROPOSITIVA.

A review of Seymour Papert's work is conducted, with the aim of comparing his original propositions with the context verified today. This retrospective goes beyond the mere citation of ideas, as it tries to infer about the effectiveness of everything that was proposed by Papert in the early days of the reality of personal computers of wide access to the general public. The method used is bibliographic research, performed from primary and secondary sources representative of Papert's work. This work is justified by the importance given to the role of computers in educational processes, the core of Papert's work. It was found that the author's initial vision was undoubtedly characterized by solid foundations of pedagogical background and educational innovation but ended up impaired by a confusion between means and ends of the role of digital technology applied to education, as well as by the low understanding of its methodological and epistemological proposal by educators interested in their work.
